G. Clarelli student viola outfits include the viola, bow, case, and rosin, in sizes from 12" through 16". Violas are measured differently than violins — by body length in inches rather than fractions  and the right size depends on your student's arm length and hand span, not just their age or height. We size students for free and no appointment is needed. Violists often start on violin and switch, and we help families through that transition regularly. Whether your student is moving over from violin or starting on viola from the beginning, we'll get them on an instrument that fits. Every viola is set up in our Wilsonville workshop by our luthier before it leaves with hand-carved French bridge fitted to the top, spruce soundpost adjusted, and quality strings from makers like D’Addario or Thomastik installed.
