While there is no “full-size” viola, the 16-inch viola is a common final size for older teens and adults. The 16-inch body length combined with the deep ribs helps players bring out a true, rich viola sound. Violas 16 inches and over come in a variety of lengths such as 16 1/4 inches, 16 3/8 inches, and bigger. Players at this size often buy rather than continue renting and it opens up more options for a step-up viola as they advance. Our outfits include viola, bow, case, and rosin. All of our violas are set up by our luthier and strung with D'Addario Helicore or Thomastik Alphayue strings. Stop by any time during our regular business hours for a free sizing.
